FAQS

There are so many cruise options now in Halong Bay - what is it that makes this one so different?

With a strong reputation as the leading cruise company, we can ensure that we are offering a package of the highest quality at a reasonable price. But it is that little something extra that makes our tours extra special- we offer a personal touch with highly trained staff and a professional cruise tour guides.

I’ve never eaten Vietnamese food before and I’m worried I won’t like it- will that be a problem?

Vietnamese food, particularly in the North, is actually easy to eat for most people, as it isn’t too spicy or too sweet like some other Vietnamese cuisines or Asian dishes for that matter.

Is there anything special I need to pack?

Whenever travelling in Halong bay, it is highly advised to carry with you a sun cream, a mosquito repellent, wet serviettes/baby wipes and/or hand sanitizers, aspirin/paracetamol, stomach troubles medicines, and windbreakers just in case the weather doesn't cooperate.

Do I need to bring money?

Yes, you should bring money for refreshments and souvenirs off the boat and for tips and gratuities.

What should I wear on the boat?

No dress code is imposed onboard President Cruises. We advise you to take light garments in summer, sweaters and/or a jacket in winters as it can get pretty chilly, especially at night. A raincoat will be useful any time of the year.

If you intend to do kayaking, plan to have a change of clothes as you will easily get wet.
As for shoes, choose what is appropriate according to the temperatures and bring along trainers or walking shoes for the excursions (visiting caves, hiking, cycling, etc.).
Don’t forget your bathing suit!

Is Wifi available onboard?

Free Wifi is available onboard but is subject to 3G network coverage. Please be warned that internet connection in Halong Bay can be very difficult as the area is surrounded by large karst mountains and can easily block the signals coming from the satellites.

Will I get seasick?

There are thousands of islands in Halong Bay, which ensures that the waters remain calm, much like the water in a lake. Even the most sensitive people very rarely suffer from seasickness, but it is wise to take seasickness tablets with you just in case.

I’ve already been to Halong Bay. Will I still enjoy this program?

Any trip to Halong bay is something special and memorable so of course! The difference here is that you will be on one of the smallest vessels in Halong, which is an intimate experience in itself.

How long does it take from Hanoi to Halong Bay?

Thanks to new highway Hai Phong - Quang Ninh, the trip from Hanoi to Halong Bay is now cutting down to only 2 hours. President Cruises offer limousine shuttle service with complimentary bottle of water, Wi-Fi and USB charger for your comfortable journey. You will depart from Hanoi as late as at 8.45 am with more time for breakfast

Book your cruise

If you are booking your own travel online, be aware that there are many fake and scam booking sites out there. Our recommendation is to book directly through the cruise line, an online travel agent like Expedia, Booking and Agoda, representative office or contacting one of our recommended partners. When it comes to the best price, check direct with the cruise operator and also with an online travel agent, and if you are travelling in peak season, book early to avoid disappointment. Regardless of how you booked your cruise, make sure you read the inclusions, exclusions, and booking terms and conditions carefully.

If you need a cruise plan for other special occasions, ensure your trip is hassle-free by emailing President Cruises at info@presidentcruiseshalong.com
